Volunteer with Oxygen Therapy at The Neuro Therapy Place
Volunteering at The Neuro Therapy Place is more than just giving your time, it’s about becoming part of a specialist service that supports people living with neurological conditions. Our oxygen therapy programme depends on committed, compassionate volunteers to operate safely and effectively.
You do not need prior experience. Full, structured training is provided.
Our volunteers are essential to the delivery of oxygen therapy. Without them, this vital service simply could not run.
Why Your Help Matters
At The Neuro Therapy Place, we support individuals living with conditions such as stroke, MS, Parkinson’s, brain injury, and other neurological diagnoses. Oxygen Therapy is one of our core services, helping clients improve wellbeing, manage symptoms, and enhance quality of life.
We have three trained Oxygen Operators who are responsible for overseeing and managing oxygen sessions. However, safe and smooth delivery requires additional volunteer support during each session.
Volunteers help to:
Welcome and support clients before and after sessions
Assist with chamber preparation and safety checks
Monitor clients during sessions under operator supervision
Maintain a calm, reassuring environment
Help with basic administration and session turnover
Your presence ensures sessions run efficiently, safely, and with the warmth and personal attention our clients value.

No Experience Needed – Training Provided
Many people assume they need a clinical background to volunteer in oxygen therapy. That is not the case.
We provide comprehensive training covering:
Introduction to neurological conditions
Oxygen therapy fundamentals
Chamber safety protocols and emergency procedures
Infection control and hygiene standards
Communication and client support skills
You will shadow experienced volunteers and operators before taking on responsibilities independently. Ongoing support and refresher training are always available.
We prioritise safety, competence, and confidence.
What You Can Expect as an Oxygen Volunteer
Oxygen therapy sessions run regularly throughout the week, and volunteers typically support scheduled half-day or full-day sessions. We do require a years commitment if you are interested.
As a volunteer, you can expect:
A structured, team based environment
Clear roles and responsibilities
Direct interaction with clients
A strong focus on safety and professionalism
A supportive and appreciative community
Every volunteer role contributes directly to client experience and operational safety.
