Founded in 1984 as a specialist MS Therapy Centre, our charity has grown over the years and now supports people with a wide range of neurological conditions across Edinburgh, the Lothians and beyond.
We also help people living with other conditions that can benefit from access to our Oxygen Therapy service.
Now known as The Neuro Therapy Place, our name reflects our commitment to providing specialist care, understanding, and a welcoming space for everyone who needs our support.

Meet The Team

Genevieve
Harrison
Chief Executive
Officer
Genevieve, a qualified solicitor from New Zealand, transitioned to the UK to pursue a career in the charity sector. She works closely with the Board of Trustees to deliver strategic objectives, secure funding, and build partnerships with statutory and third-sector organisations. She oversees the Centre’s daily operations, fostering a welcoming environment for clients, staff, and volunteers, while driving service development, business growth, and community engagement. Genevieve ensures the organisation meets its legal and social obligations and leads on strategic planning for its future.

Business Development
Manager
Archie leads on our Marketing and Business Development strategy and its implementation. He works closely with our CEO and the wider team to expand our service, develop new partnerships and maximise our potential. He has over 20 years management experience in the voluntary and private sectors.

Andy
Robertson
Client Liaison
Officer
Formerly a hyperbaric oxygen therapy volunteer, Andy started in this role in January 2026. He supports new and existing clients with information and advice on accessing our services as well as managing front of house enquiries. His core values are openness, kindness, creativity, playfulness and compassion and he aims to provide a safe, friendly and welcoming environment for all.

Jemma is the first point of contact for all our volunteer enquiries, supporting recruitment and induction. She also supports and promotes community fundraising activities and events in aid of The Neuro Therapy Place, and assists with the management of our social media accounts. Jemma has been part of the team for over 5 years.

Community Fundraiser
Rosie is the Community Fundraiser at The Neuro Therapy Place, bringing a diverse background in customer service, events, and wellness. She has experience leading community fundraising initiatives, coordinating events, supporting volunteers, and ensuring safeguarding standards. Rosie is passionate about developing creative fundraising approaches and building strong connections within The Neuro Therapy Place community.

Vedad
Abdolkhani
Senior Physiotherapist
Vedad is an experienced neuro physiotherapist who has been part of The Neuro Therapy Place team since 2025. As Senior Physiotherapist, she plays a key role in helping clients regain function and independence through thorough assessments and specialised, evidence based treatments. Vedad is currently submitting her PhD, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing knowledge in neuro rehabilitation while providing compassionate, tailored care to each client.

An experienced and qualified Senior Oxygen Therapy Operator, Elizabeth oversees the safe operation and day-to-day management of our oxygen therapy service.

Gordon is a dedicated and experienced professional, committed to delivering safe and effective oxygen therapy. He brings reliability, high standards, and a focus on continuous learning to his role. Gordon values teamwork, trust, and making a meaningful difference in the care and support of clients.

Meet The Board

Professor Catherine Heymans
Patron
Prof. Catherine Heymans is the Astronomer Royal for Scotland, appearing regularly on BBC Radio and TV to talk about the latest discoveries in outer space. Before developing Long Covid (ME/CFS) in 2022, she was a globe trotter, using some of the world’s largest telescopes to map out invisible dark matter in our Universe. Now Catherine is a regular client at The Neuro Therapy Place for Oxygen Therapy in our Barochamber. We’ve been so happy to see her energy levels rising and her health steadily improving and are delighted that she has agreed to support The Neuro Therapy Place by becoming our Patron.

Encombe
Chair
Charlotte is an experienced Chairperson and active campaigner on behalf of her local community. She started the charity Greener Leith and is currently Chair of Leith Central Community Council. She is also a carer’s representative on an NHS sub-committee that aims to promote patients’ wellbeing at the Astley Ainslie hospital, Edinburgh.

Daniel
Baigrie
Vice Chair
Daniel is a Senior Communities and Lifelong Learning Worker. He has a wealth of experience across the statutory and third sector in the areas of youth work, community development and adult learning.

James
Richardson
Treasurer
James is a Financial Accountant who has worked in the insurance industry in Edinburgh and the South Coast of England for the last decade. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Louise
Murray
Board Member
Louise was a marketing professional in major financial institutions in Edinburgh, London, and the Isle of Man for many years specialising in product & service development and communication. She has led several non-profit groups in her local community.

Claire
Maclaine
Board Member
Claire studied Speech Pathology and Therapy and has worked as a speech and language therapist across acute, rehabilitative, and community neurological services in Scotland, England, and New Zealand. She works as a rehabilitation case manager with people across the UK who have sustained catastrophic injuries.

Ruth
Saunders
Secretary
Ruth was diagnosed with MS in 2015. Prior to taking medical retirement in 2017, she worked as a solicitor and has experience of trusts and charities from that time. Ruth is a regular at the centre, taking advantage of the many services offered by Compass, and is well placed to represent the views of clients in board discussions.
